One day Workshop on “Socio Economic and Cultural variations among Tribals”
Samata Shikshan Sanstha’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Social Work, Morane, Dhule is organizing one day workshop on “Socio Economic and Cultural variations among Tribals” on 29th July 2017. The College has been working with the tribal community since 20 years. While teaching as well as during the course of field work in the tribal villages, the need for taking up research work in the field of tribal development was felt.
Hence the college conducted a study on “Socio Economic and Cultural variations among tribal people of North Maharashtra Region.” which was sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. The study is exclusively related to three major tribes namely – Bhil, Pawara and Kokana from three districts of North Maharashtra Region.
The purpose of organizing the workshop is to present the findings of the research project and also to provide a platform to academicians, activists and students to present their views, and experiences for the further direction for tribal development.
The workshop will be inaugurated by Smt. Najubai Gavit a renowned social activist and writer. The inaugural session will be presided over by Dr. Jalindar Adsule, Principal of the College. Prof. Gopal Nimbalkar will present the findings of research project. This will be followed a panel discussion, the expert panelists include Prof. Dr. P.M.Vasave, Prof.Dr. Pushpa Gavit, Prof. Bhimsing Valvi and at the end there will be open discussion where participants will share their views.
